The International Erosion Control Association (IECA) board of directors is committed to the growth and evolution of the association. The board recently updated IECA’s strategic plan to help identify resources to support membership through improved services to chapters, members, and professionals who protect soil and water resources.
“During my term as board president, I’ve worked hard to help put the correct staffing, resources and board talent in place to create a roadmap for IECA to move forward,” explained Adam Dibble, CPESC, CESSWI, IECA board president. “As the plan is implemented, we will be providing opportunities for chapters and individual members to align in a unified effort. The sum of these efforts will not only impact IECA, but the future of the industry. I’m excited to see this plan come to life.”
Some of the first steps for the strategic plan included revising the vision and mission statements:
Mission:
IECA advances the standards of practice and connect the erosion control and stormwater management community.
Vision:
The global alliance enhancing soil and water resources.
Additionally, four pillars have been developed to provide a foundation to align IECA’s goals, resources and processes to help support membership.
Connect: Support the career and practice success of industry members.
Learn: Develop and deliver the knowledge and standards of practice unique to the industry.
Promote: Expand awareness of IECA’s impact on erosion, soil and water.
Lead: Lead a powerful global association to serve the industry and society.
“With the approaching reunification of IECA Region One and Two in early 2021, now is the time to create a roadmap to how we can service our global membership,” said Samantha Roe, IOM, executive director of IECA. “We’re implementing new member resources to help connect all of our membership. For instance, we’ll be launching a new online community, creating digital assets to connect members regionally and building out our education to provide global training in the first quarter of 2021. This is going to be an exciting year for IECA.”
