FGI to host webinar on floating cover systems

The Fabricated Geomembrane Institute (GSI) will sponsor a webinar, “Floating Cover Systems for Reservoirs and Ponds,” on Feb. 27, at 4 p.m. CST.

This webinar will discuss the different types of floating cover systems available for various reservoirs and ponds. In particular, this webinar will discuss the design, factory fabrication, installation, operation and maintenance of geosynthetic-based floating cover systems. These cover systems can be used in potable water, containment, mining, oil and gas development, industrial and other applications.

Presenter Graham Fairhead is the managing director of FabTech Australia. Fabtech Australia specializes in supplying and installing geomembrane liner and cover systems for dams, reservoirs, irrigation channels, ponds, canals and tanks. Fabtech uses a variety of geosynthetic materials and focuses on factory fabrication to improve and accelerate field installation. Graham is also the current president of the Australasian Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (ACIGS).
