U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh stops by suburban Chicago office

During the April 17 Lobby Day organized by the Geosynthetic Materials Association, officials from GMA-member CETCO were introduced to Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.). That successful meeting in Washington, D.C., resulted in a follow-up visit by the congressman to CETCO headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill. on June 11.

GMA and CETCO representatives were able to discuss several GMA and CETCO issues with Rep. Walsh, including the transportation appropriations bill, coal ash disposal, shale gas extraction, and energy issues. Rep. Walsh received a tour of the CETCO facility, followed by a town hall meeting with approximately 100 employees. CETCO employees and the congressman engaged in a robust Q-and-A session covering a wide range of policy and political issues.
