COMANCO resumes 3-layer geosynthetic system in Puerto Rico

COMANCO recently returned to Puerto Rico to resume installing a 3-layer geosynthetic system. This project will benefit the Southern region of the island of Puerto Rico by covering the excess ash and other chemicals that have contaminated the surrounding air. 

The system includes installing GCL, 60mil white textured liner, double-sided geocomposite, and HDPE pipe. So far, the crew has installed about 126,650 square feet of GCL and 120,839 square feet of 60 mil white textured liner. The company completed phase one early last year, and the team is now working on the first mobilization of phase two. This stage covers 2.77 acres and includes installing the double-sided geocomposite.
