ASTM honors Von Maubeuge and Allen

During the biannual meeting of ASTM International in Denver, Colo., June 5–7, the society awarded the Award of Merit to NAUE’s Kent von Maubeuge and the L. David Suits Award to Sam Allen of TRI Environmental.

The Award of Merit was established in 1949 by the ASTM International Board of Directors and is the highest society award granted to an individual member for distinguished service and outstanding participation in ASTM International committee activities. Recipients also receive the honorary title of Fellow. Kent von Maubeuge was awarded this great honor for his hard work and contribution on the subject of geosynthetic clay liners.

The L. David Suits Award recognizes and honors distinguished individuals who have shown extensive commitment to the geosynthetic field through exemplary technical, practical or administrative contributions that have resulted in a significant leap-forward of knowledge, testing, testing equipment or products. L. David Suits was on-hand to present the award to Allen.
