Eric Blond nominated chairman of ASTM D35.10 Subcommittee on Geomembranes

Eric Blond has been nominated chairman of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Subcommittee D35.10 on Geomembranes.

The ASTM Subcommittee D35.10 develops standard test methods, specifications, guides and practices dealing with geomembranes. ASTM International is one of the world’s largest international standards developing organizations and is considered a forum where industry and government stakeholders come together to create standards that impact people everywhere.

Blond is a professional engineer, registered in Quebec and in Alberta. He holds an engineering degree in geotechnical engineering and a master’s degree with a focus on geosynthetics. He has more than 25 years of experience in research and development, testing and expertise in his field of practice. He has expanded his actions from the geotechnical world to the building industry, as well as to the architectural textile world.

Blond takes over from Zahirul Islam, who completed his 5-years term in January 2022.
