On Jan. 25, 2018, Western Excelsior of Evansville, Indiana, announced a new manufacturing facility in Campbell, Texas. This facility represents both the partial replacement of capacity lost during a May 8, 2017, fire at the company’s Mancos, Colorado, plant and the continuing execution of Western Excelsior’s growth strategies. The company said Texas has a strong erosion control product market, and the new facility expands the company’s footprint. Western Excelsior chose this location because of the strength of the local and regional markets, and placement of current sales support.
Western Excelsior expects the Campbell facility to be fully operational this spring. This facility will produce sediment control wattles and erosion control blankets (ECBs), the latter using a range of fiber types.
