RE: Test parameters
Most of the tests based on ASTM geotextiles provide for conditions of temperature and specific humidity. Do these parameters greatly influence the test results if you change or vary?
Thanks,
(José | Mexico)

Reply: I believe that all of the standard test methods require controlled temperature and humidity during the various geosynthetic tests. That said, temperature is very important in the various physical, mechanical, and hydraulic tests and must be controlled within the tolerances given in the standard. Humidity control, in my opinion, is less critical and, for hydraulic testing, is not even a factor.
