The Erosion Control Technology Council (ECTC) has published a “General Usage and Installation Guidelines for Sediment Retention Fiber Roll (SRFR),” it announced in a July 29 press release.
The guidelines are the result of consensus among SRFR manufacturers and are designed to address the needs of engineers, designers, and other end-users of these products, the release said.
The SRFR installation guidelines specifically address installation on bare (unprotected) soils and in conjunction with rolled/hydraulic erosion control products (RECPs/HECPs), according to the press release.
These step-by-step instructions include drawings, which are available for download at www.ECTC.org, and also DWG (“drawing”) files that are available for import into computed-aided design systems, allowing modifications of the drawings for use in project specifications. All of this information may be used for educational purposes, the release said.
