Former congressman and vice presidential candidate, Jack Kemp, died May 2 at age 73.

His company, Kemp Partners, along with the firm of Whitmer and Worrall, have led the government relations efforts for the Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA) since 2006.

One highlight of those efforts was a visit Kemp made to the exhibit hall at the Geosynthetics-2007 conference in Washington, D.C. (see photo).

“What impressed me most about Jack was his energy and his desire to learn about our industry,” said Andrew Aho, GMA managing director. “I recall that he had knee surgery not long before our conference. But he insisted on visiting thebooth of every GMA member in the hall to learn about their products.”
