Strata Systems Inc. has announced an upgrade to its advanced interactive computer software program designed to assist engineers with the design and analysis of geogrid-reinforced steep slopes.

Earthen slopes up to 70° from horizontal can be safely designed in accordance with methodologies accepted by the Federal Highway Administration and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The program, StrataSlope, is now available on Strata’s Web site: www.geogrid.com and is recommended for use by geotechnical and civil engineers familiar with the technology of mechanically stabilized earthen structures.

“Developing highly advanced soil reinforcement products is a serious undertaking,” states Lance Carter, P.E., Strata’s technical director. “Our customers want an effective tool in evaluating the stability of their reinforced soil structures.”

Profile Products LLC has launched a new Web-based program, Profile Soil Solutions (PS3).

A design and product-selection tool, it intends to access engineering and agronomic assistance for erosion and sediment control, integrating hydraulically applied and rolled erosion-control products.

“The new PS3 software provides professionals with a holistic and sustainable approach toward cost-effective erosion control,” said Michael Robeson, technical services manager for Profile.
