The magazine formerly known as GFR has received two awards from the Minnesota Magazine Publishers Association.

Gold Award for Best Technical Article, Professional, Circulation under 30,000:

GFR-Geotechnical Fabrics Report, “On the links with coir, straw and synthetic mats,” April 2005. For this article, the judges said, “ This is a beautiful article! The layout and photo placement make the piece easy-to-read and the type ‘flows.’ Although the topic isn’t the easiest to write about, the writing is interesting, engaging, and continuous. The writing also stayed technical throughout the piece, never once “talking down” to the reader. Overall, I was very impressed with the article!! Definitely Gold material!”

Gold Award for Best Directory, Professional, Circulation under 30,000:

GFR-Geotechnical Fabrics Report, Specifier’s Guide, Dec. 2004. Judges commented, “This directory represents a massive amount of information. Despite the intensely technical nature of the information, the material is presented clearly and cleanly.” Another judge said, “Use of foldout tabs is helpful when using this directory. The information in each listing is excellent.”

Geosynthetics (formerly GFR) is one of six magazines published by the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), located in Roseville, Minn., a suburb of the Twin Cities.
