Raleigh, N.C.-based engineering firm, SmithGardner, announced in a Feb. 11 press release that it has promoted Pieter Scheer from senior engineer to company vice president.

Scheer joined SmithGardner in 1994 and had previously worked with company founder, Greg Richardson, designing and managing municipal solid-waste construction. Scheer’s experience includes the siting, design, permitting, and construction of lined landfill containment cells and closures, and the preparation of bid and construction issue documents.

“With his many years of hard work and dedication to our company, Pieter has become a well-respected and essential part of the SmithGardner family,” said Stacey Smith, SmithGardner president.

SmithGardner serves municipal, private, and industrial clients with solid-waste consulting/engineering, and provides technical contributions to the engineering community nationwide.
