DHS Issues RFI Seeking White Papers for Physical Infrastructure of Border Wall

News | March 7, 2017 | By:

The federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a Mar. 2 Request for Information (RFI) to solicit ideas from industry and other partners for development of a comprehensive long-term strategy for a border wall between the United States and Mexico.

Specifically, DHS seeks white papers from companies, not for profits, educational institutions, consortia, and other entities with innovative ideas for design, finance, and construction of physical infrastructure of a border wall.

White papers should be no longer than 5 pages. The papers should identify the largest obstacles to accomplishing the idea and proposed methods of overcoming the obstacles. Alternatives within a proposed model are encouraged.

Responses to this RFI will be treated as information only. A Request for Proposals (RFP) is still under development. Geosynthetics will post more information when this becomes available.

Responses to the RFI are due to DHS by March 31, 2017. The federal Solicitation Number for this RFI is 2017-DHS-OCPO-RFI-0001. More detailed information on this RFI can be found by searching for that Solicitation Number on www.fbo.gov.
