New acquisition for Solmax

News | February 27, 2017 | By:

Montreal-based Solmax Inc. announced in a press last week that is has acquired assets of now-defunct Brawler Inc. These assets, located in Houston, Texas, will belong to the newly incorporated company, Solmax USA LLC.

Solmax is the second geomembrane producer to scoop up Brawler assets. (Earlier this month, Inland Tarp & Liner announced that it had acquired Brawler Environmental Containment located in Midland, Texas.)

The press release said that the Houston facility will need to undergo upgrades in the months ahead to operate to standards required by the Solmax brand. By reducing delivery times and shipping costs, Solmax USA LLC will be able to provide “efficient coverage to the geomembrane needs of the oil and gas extraction and waste management sectors in the southern and southwestern United States,” according to the release.

“By this acquisition, beyond our commitment to push the industry toward consolidation, the first thing we wanted to achieve was to get closer to our customers, primarily those operating in the oil and gas industry in the United States,” said Solmax CEO,  Jean Louis Vangeluwe.

“Our new presence in Texas is our way of showing all our customers that we are committed to the U.S. market,” said Vangeluwe.
