Butyl acquires Landline; workforce up 50 percent

Butyl Products Group, based in Billericay, Essex, England, announced in a Nov. 26 press release that is has acquired Landline Ltd. The company’s new trading name is Butek Landline.

According to the release, the company now has a diverse portfolio that includes liners and geomembranes for ponds, lakes, lagoons, reservoirs, and reed beds as well as gas membranes and venting systems. It specializes in secondary containment products, spill barriers, and levees for chemical and petrochemical applications, as well as fabrication and installation for these projects.

“This has increased our workforce by a little over 50% and we’re feeling very positive for the future,” said Butek managing director, Gavin Mitchell.

The press release noted that Butyl Products Ltd. celebrates its 50th anniversary next year and has taken the strategic decision to focus on a business sector from its origin in 1965. The Butyl manufacturing facilities in Billericay will continue to be the headquarters for business operations.
