Seaman promotes John Crum to president/COO

Former VP of operations & co-president steps up.

Wooster, Ohio-based Seaman Corp. announced in a Jan. 28 press release the promotion of John Crum to the positions of president and chief operating officer. An employee of the company for 16 years, he previously held the titles of vice president of operations, executive vice president, and co-president.

“John has been involved in all areas of the business and understands our technology, our customers, and our associates,” said Richard Seaman, the company’s chairman and CEO.

The press release noted that with manufacturing locations in Wooster and Bristol, Tenn., Seaman Corp. has been a developer of high-performance industrial fabrics, sold globally in many markets, for more than 65 years. Among the company’s products are: XR technology geomembranes, FiberTite roofing systems, Shelter-Rite truck tarp and architectural fabrics, and specialized fabrics for military structures and fuel tanks, the marine industry, and other markets.

Crum joined Seaman in 1997 with 20 years of experience in manufacturing management and manufacturing engineering, previously holding the position of operations manager for Cooper Industries. He first became a corporate officer of Seaman Corp. in 2000, when he was promoted from plant manager to vice president of operations.

Crum will be based at Seaman’s corporate headquarters in Wooster.
