Barry Christopher, Dave Suits are instructors for Oct. 23 short course in Orlando
The Geosynthetic Materials Association (GMA) has teamed up with the North American Geosynthetics Society (NAGS) to host a series of short courses around the country.
These courses provide training on the appropriate, cost-effective use of geosynthetic materials in transportation applications. The courses feature instruction from some of the most prominent educators in the geosynthetic industry.

Geosynthetics in Roadways

The one-day short course “Geosynthetics in Roadways” offers six (6.0) professional development hours (PDHs), while providing training on the use of geosynthetics in roadway applications. The course examines the use of geotextiles, geogrids, and edge drains in pavement structures. Applications such as filtration, drainage, roadway separation, roadway reinforcement, roadway subgrade improvement, and pavement overlays are also addressed.
Instructors for this course are well-known industry veterans, Barry Christopher, Ph.D., P.E., and Dave Suits, MSCE. Christopher is an independent geotechnical engineering consultant and is an expert in geosynthetic applications and design as well as geosynthetic testing and instrumentation. Suits is the executive director of NAGS and was previously with the state of New York Department of Transportation.
