Provides more manufacturing, warehouse, office space.

Maccaferri Inc. announced in a June 11 press release the opening a new 49,000-square-foot manufacturing facility this month near Sacramento, Calif. The site now more than doubles the company’s current space.

Located northeast of downtown Sacramento, the facility is in the McClellan Business Park, formerly McClellan Air Force Base. The release noted that the new facility offers convenient access to major interstates and highways in north-central California.

The larger space will primarily accommodate an additional line for the production of Maccaferri’s Rock Mesh HR (high-resistance), its latest rockfall protection product. This new line is also expected to require additional personnel, creating potential employment opportunities.

The press release said that other benefits of the new location include increased warehouse storage and improved office space.

Logistically, the new location allows Maccaferri to better serve rockfall prone areas with improved delivery times, reduced shipping costs, and a range of its current rockfall products. The facility will also serve as a centralized hub dedicated to the rockfall protection business, according to the release.

A July opening celebration is planned for the new California facility.
