Geomembrane manufacturer’s commitment to industrial fabrics earns the honor from industry association
Richard N. (Dick) Seaman, chairman of Wooster, Ohio-based Seaman Corp., a global producer of industrial fabrics, has received an Honored Lifetime Membership from the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI).
The award was presented in Boston at IFAI’s annual Expo, the largest specialty fabrics event and trade show in the Americas. Seaman was one of eight recipients honored during the event that also celebrated the 100th anniversary of IFAI.
“Seaman has a proud tradition of developing high-performance fabric innovations,” said Dick Seaman. “My father, who started this company in the late 1940s, built this company with the goal of providing superior products along with unequalled customer service. Today, Seaman Corporation products are used for a variety of applications, trusted [around] the world and used to protect sensitive environments.”
Seaman is a U.S.-based coated fabric manufacturer with facilities in Wooster, Ohio, and Bristol, Tenn., and sales operations in Shanghai, China. With more than 60 years of manufacturing experience in the commercial, building, military, and environmental industries, Seaman is a global producer of industrial fabrics used in XR technology geomembrane liners, FiberTite roof systems, Shelter-Rite truck tarps, and architectural structures.
Earlier this year, Seaman Corp. was named the winner of the 2012 “Perfect Engine” award, recognizing the company’s commitment to a continuous improvement philosophy and success with “lean enterprises.”
