Increasing production for California company

A&R Tarpaulins Inc. announced in a Dec. 5 press release that it is expanding its footprint in Southern California. The Fontana-based manufacturer has purchased a 27,000-square-foot lot next to its current location on Valley Boulevard in Fontana.

“We’ve been looking to expand our facilities for a while,” said A&R marketing director Lucy Rivera. “Our increase in production demand has been one of the mainreasons. We continue to diversify every year in our different production areas; we needed more work space.”

A&R Tarpaulins is using the new property to expand its parking, freeing up its existing parking area for additional production space. The company purchased the property for approximately $242,000, according to the release.

“We’re optimistic about the future,” said vice president Bud Weisbart. “Orders are rolling in and we’ve kept busy despite this rough economy.”

The press release noted that A&R does business locally, nationally, and internationally. A&R’s fabric products include its Super Kwik Patch. The patch is an adhesive-backed product for repairs of polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyvinyl-chloride (PVC) fabric products, including tarps, liners, and landfill covers.

A&R also manufactures octagon-ring mats for the ultimate fighting championship (UFC) organization, and specialty fabric products for satellites, awnings, floating covers, vapor barriers, and waterproofing.
