New pink welder auctioned to support breast cancer research

Inspired by the courage and dedication of Stefanie Spielman and her fight against breast cancer, Miller Weldmaster embraced the challenge of fundraising for breast cancer research and the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center.

According to a November press release from the company, in autumn 2009, associates at MW developed a plan to build a special pink T-300 Extreme welding machine in preparation for an auction at the 2010 IFAI Expo Americas in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The machine was completed in July and MW began promoting the machine, the auction, and the Spielman Fund to the industry.

“We are so excited to be a part of this great cause,” said Jeff Sponseller, executive VP for MW. “All net proceeds will be donated to the Spielman Fund.”

The IFAI (Industrial Fabrics Association International) show concluded Oct. 29, with the high bid going to Todd Davis of Super Sign Mart.

“We’re super excited with our winning bid” said Davis. “The pink color is cool and it’s a great cause!”

Navarre, Ohio-based Miller Weldmaster manufactures welding equipment for the industrial fabric and plastic industries. Super Sign Mart is a digital/screen printing business in Ruston, La.
